The Naked City
While cocooned with Coronavirus in 2020, I devised an outdoor exhibition in Dublin, using boarded up premises and emptyadvertising billboards as my digital canvas. I have named this show ' The Naked City ', as Dublin is now a sad lonely and empty space. It is of course a virtual exhibition.
In 2009 I started a project entitled Elements of Nature. It used the nude female form in the urban and rural landscape to reflect issues of the day, including global warming, the position of women in Church and State, racism, sexual repression, consumerism, the economic collapse and the heavy burden carried by many for the greed of a few.
I have prefaced the exhibition with editorial images from the last decade, which to a large extent informed my project.
The virtual exhibition was accepted as part of Dublin City Culture Night 2020.
